Today We Remember: Albert Joyner - Britain's Oldest Poppy Appeal Volunteer
3/20/2014Today we remember Britain's oldest poppy volunteer and former Royal Marine, Albert Joyner, who raised more than £15,000 by selling poppies over 11 years. He is the country's oldest surviving former Royal Marine and has sadly died at the age of 102.
Mr Joyner, from Keighley, West Yorkshire, was sent to fight on HMS Curacoa at the outbreak of the Second World War. Today, Stow on the Wold Poppy Appeal pay tribute to him and think of his family at this time.
